The woman was walking along the footbridge towards LBS Road after alighting from Chunabhatti railway station in the suburbs when a man grabbed her from behind in the dark and said she was his wife.
A 34-year-old woman was molested by a man on a pedestrian bridge in Korla district, police said on Wednesday.
After the incident, the accused was beaten up by some passers-by and has been detained and is undergoing treatment at a hospital, an official said.
The incident occurred around 8:30 pm on Tuesday.

After being alerted, personnel from Dharavi and Korla police stations rushed to the spot and took the accused Ganesh Prasad (42) into custody.
Prasad, a resident of Khar, was admitted to the hospital with injuries sustained in the beating.
A case has been registered against him under Section 74 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Code and investigation is on, the police officer said.
