Manish Jaiswal, director of the GNM Training Institute of the Government of Betia in Bihar, has been charged with drinking and inappropriate behaviour. One photo shows Jaiswal drinking alcohol and getting a massage in his office. GNM students, distressed by the principal's behavior, have sent a letter accompanied by the images to the First Minister and Health Minister, questioning the lack of action despite their previous complaints.
The students stressed that the principal's actions contradicted the state government's stance on the ban and urged the chief minister to address their concerns. They also pointed out that although the Betija Civil Surgeon was instructed to investigate, no follow-up action was taken.
Jaiswal responded that the allegations were part of a conspiracy by his opponents and that the photos had been edited to defame him. He insisted the accusations were baseless.
Betia's civil surgeon was initially ordered by the director of nursing, Dr Sunil Kumar Jha, to conduct a confidential investigation. Despite confirmation of the principal's misconduct, no corrective action was taken and the controversial images continued to be circulated publicly.
