An inter-state coordination meeting on Naxalism, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, was held in Chhattisgarh capital Raipur on Saturday.
The meeting, involving senior officials from seven states, will review inter-state coordination and the left-wing extremism situation, an official said.
Participants included Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Minister Vijay Sharma, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai and representatives from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh The chief secretary and director general of police (DGP) of Telangana and Maharashtra, the official said.
Senior central government officials also attended the meeting. All seven states have a Naxalite presence, especially along inter-state borders. After this, Shah will chair a meeting on the impact of left-wing extremism in Chhattisgarh on regional security and development. He will speak at a news conference at 6 p.m.

During the recent Lok Sabha campaign, Shah had said that Naxalism would be eliminated from Chhattisgarh within three years if Prime Minister Narendra Modi is elected to a third term.
