Guidelines issued to ensure smooth movement of vehicles on roads during Krishna Janmashtami celebrations
Bengaluru traffic police issued a fresh warning on Saturday ahead of the Krishna Janmashtami festival on Monday. In the notice, the transportation department listed key roads that are closed to vehicle traffic and alternative routes that commuters can choose.
The guidelines have been issued to ensure smooth movement of vehicles on the roads during the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations and will be in effect from 8 am on August 26 to 6 am on August 27.
According to the advisory signed by Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police (DCP), Bengaluru East, “In view of the Krishna Janmashtami festival, Sri Venugopala swamy Temple, the main road of Devasandra located within the limits of KR Pura Traffic Police Station, has made the following arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Transportation arrangements.
It further stated that movement of all vehicles on the Devasandra main road will be restricted. The Department of Transportation has also outlined alternative routing arrangements:
- Vehicles heading towards Devasandra and KR Pura Market from Kodigehalli and Hoodi Main Road should turn right near Lulu's Bakery at Jai Bhuvaneshwari Junction and proceed to KR Pura Market via Ayyappanagar Main Road – Basavanapura Main Road – Bhattarahalli Junction.
- Vehicles heading towards Kodigehalli and Hoodi Main Road from KR Pura Market side should turn right near GRT, take Basavanapura Main Road (Krishna Talkies Road) and cross Bhattarahalli Junction.
The public is also asked to cooperate, the announcement said.
This year's Janmashtami celebrations will mark the 5251st birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.
