A day after the Katni horror hit the headlines, the victim of the horrific attack on Thursday confirmed that she and her grandson were brutally beaten by railway police. She further stated that the attack lasted for several hours until 4 am.
The woman, Kusum Vanshkar, narrated the incident and alleged that the railway police physically abused them. She also said she was kicked in the chest when she asked for water.
“The police came to my house looking for my son. When I told them he was not there, they came back and summoned me to the police station. If I had known they would beat me, I would have run away. current era.
“We begged for water, but they kicked me in the chest. They continued to attack us throughout the night. When they allowed us to leave at 4 a.m., my feet were so swollen that I could barely walk,” she said. The women also said the police collected their fingerprints.
She said the incident had an emotional impact on her grandson. “When he saw the police beating me, he cried, and I couldn't help crying. Someone in the police said, 'Let them go.'

6 railway police officers suspended
The Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday suspended six Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, including a station in-charge, in connection with the beating incident of a woman and her grandson in Katni district.
The opposition Congress claimed the victims were Dalits. Against the Mohan Yadav-led BJP government, Congress leaders staged a sit-in protest at a police station in Katni demanding registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused.
“Old videos of policemen of GRP Katni police station being beaten up are going viral on social media. After coming to know about the incident, I have asked DIG Rail to go to the spot and investigate the matter. Based on preliminary investigation, I have ordered the immediate suspension of the then GRP police station in-charge people, a head constable and four constables,” Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said.
According to reports, police station in-charge Aruna Vahne, head constable Ajay Shrivastava, constables Shoaib Abbasi, Salman Khan, Omkar Sirsam and female constable Varsha Dube have been suspended Press Trust News Agency.
