FIR filed after Howrah hospital staff tried to commit serious crime on minor in CT scan room
In two fresh cases of sexual assault in West Bengal, a hospital staffer in Howrah was arrested for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl in a CT scan room, while another man was arrested for molesting a nurse on duty. Detained at a government hospital in Birbhum district.
The incident involving the girl took place when she went to Sadar Hospital in Howrah for a CT scan. The girl claimed the technician molested her, prompting her to flee the hospital in agony. In the Birbhum case, a nurse on duty at a government health center in Ilambazar was allegedly molested by a man.
Mamata “did nothing”
The hospital authorities immediately contacted the police who arrested the accused on the spot. A formal written complaint has been lodged with the Ilambazar police station and investigation is ongoing. These cases of serial assault followed the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital. “The most unsafe country for women”

“Thanks to Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal has become the most unsafe state for women. She has not taken any steps to enforce strict rules or set up fast-track courts to punish rape and POCSO cases. Accused. She was a complete disaster as chief minister and must resign,” he added.

Bengal BJP leader Agnimitra Paul also condemned the state government on the X show. “In a shocking incident at Howrah hospital, staff members were caught red-handed while trying to commit a heinous act on a minor girl patient in the CT scan room,” said BJP leader Agnimi Agnimitra Paul posted on X.
“This shocking incident reflects the dire situation of women's safety in hospitals in West Bengal. When even hospitals are not safe, where do our daughters, mothers and sisters go for safety? The Mamata Banerjee government has not It’s time to make a change that protects women at every level,” she added.
