A new audio clip purportedly recording a conversation between two junior doctors at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has surfaced amid the ongoing investigation into the rape and murder of a trainee doctor. sources revealed CNN-News18 One of the voices belongs to Dr Sarif Hassan, an alleged aide to Ghosh, a controversial former principal who is under investigation for rape, murder and alleged corruption. Hasan has been questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at least three times in connection with the death of the female doctor. Sources said another voice belonged to Dr Anubhav Saha, who was said to be against Ghosh's “coterie”.
Saha claimed it was a recording of a phone call he had with Hassan a few months before the incident at RG Kar Hospital. He claimed the conversation took place after Hassan made false complaints to the public hospital's anti-obscenity committee and the ethnic minority committee.
“He threatened me using the names of extremely powerful people and tried to convince me to join his lobby or face consequences such as suspension,” Saha told reporters. CNN-News18. In the viral video, two voices are said to be discussing how Ghosh enjoyed Didi's sponsorship and Didi refused to let him resign. The word “Didi” means sister in Bengali and is a common name for senior female figures. Even West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is known as 'Didi' among political circles and her admirers.
“I have personally seen the vigilance report against him (the principal),” said a voice purported to be Saha's. In response, another voice said: “That report no longer exists; it has been deleted. You can go to the official website to have a look.” The second voice continued: “… Mr. Principal wants to resign, but Didi won't let him. You know Is this it? The CM refused to let him resign. He had already resigned… Didi asked him to stay in office until the Lok Sabha elections…”
Hassan's voice also allegedly refers to a person named “SPD” who is said to be “managing the health department on Didi's instructions.” However, it is not yet clear who this person is.
