In a notification issued on Tuesday, the Union Home Ministry said the local government of Delhi may also appoint members of such bodies, boards, committees or statutory bodies
The President has authorized the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi to constitute any authority, board, committee or statutory body under any law enacted by Parliament applicable to the Government of Delhi.
In a notification issued on Tuesday, the Union Home Ministry said the local government of Delhi may also appoint members of such bodies, boards, committees or statutory bodies.
“In accordance with Article 239(1) of the Constitution and Section 45D of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 (1 of 1992), the President hereby directs that the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi shall be under the control of the President , pending further order, in the exercise of the powers of the President under Section 45D(a) of the Act to constitute any agency, commission, commission or any statutory body (however named) which may be called or appoint any Government officer or ex-officio Member to such body, board, committee or any statutory body,” the notice said.
