Three workers were killed and several others injured when a floor slab of a building under construction here partially collapsed on Thursday, city officials said.
The incident took place at Govind Nagar in Malad (East), a western suburb of Mumbai, at around 12.10 pm.
The 20th floor slab of the 23-storey Navjeevan building partially collapsed, an official said.
A senior municipal official said the high-rise building is being constructed on Haji Bapu Road as a marketable wing of Right Channel Private Limited's SRA (Slum Redevelopment Authority) project.
Two videos purportedly showing the incident have surfaced on social media. In one of the clips, a worker can be seen falling onto construction materials on the ground as several people try to lift him. A second video shows some people visibly shaken after narrowly escaping death.

The senior civil official said they informed the SRA authorities immediately after the incident.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said six people were injured when the floor collapsed and they were rushed to the nearby municipality-run MW Desai Hospital.
However, hospital doctors declared three of them dead. The deceased have been identified as Gopal Banika Modi (32), Sohan Jachil Rotha (26) and Vinod Keshav. Vinod Keshav Sadar (26).
Among the injured workers, Rupsan Bhadra Mamin (30) is in the intensive care unit of Desai Hospital and his condition is stable, while Jalil Rahim Sheikh (45) is in the orthopedic ward. BMC officials said the third worker, Mohmmad Salamuddin Shaikh (30), has been shifted to the civic-run Cooper Hospital.
