The Finance Ministry on Thursday said it has directed PSU insurance companies to organize special camps and streamline claims process for people affected by heavy rains and floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states to ensure quick settlement of claims.
Insurance companies have also been directed to widely publicize the name and contact number of the nodal officer through whom policyholders can contact.
In view of heavy rains and floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Financial Services Department on Thursday issued instructions to public sector insurance companies to provide comprehensive support to flood-affected people, the ministry said in a statement.
“Insurance companies have been directed to provide relief to those affected by organizing special camps and streamlining claims procedures to ensure speedy settlement of claims,” the ministry said in a post on X.
Central Government and the Treasury are committed to supporting those affected by this disaster and ensuring they receive the necessary assistance as early as possible.
