Bappa was dressed in yellow and had more than 66 kilograms of gold ornaments and more than 336 kilograms of silver ornaments and precious stones.
The first look of the Ganesh idol was unveiled amidst chants, music and dhol beats at the GSB Seva Mandal at King's Circle in Mumbai on Thursday evening. Dozens of devotees gathered at Pandal to witness this pious moment.
With this, GSB Seva Mandal kicked off the 70th Ganeshotsav celebrations. It is famous for the richest Ganesha idol in India.

The Ganapati festival begins on September 7 and is a major celebration in Maharashtra. Ganeshotsav continues for ten days with joyous festivities, elaborate rituals and other festivities and ends with the grand Visarjan, where the Ganesha idol is immersed in a water body amidst chants and music.
Preparations for the festival have begun and the event is unprecedented. Statue makers are making eco-friendly statues of Lord Ganesh and the markets in the city are bustling with a festive atmosphere. The sculptor is busy giving the final touches to the Ganesha idol.
