The Chinese Communist Party is actively leveraging the climate change agenda in a concerted effort to make the United States more dependent on China and even more ominous and vulnerable, according to a year-long research project by the Heritage Foundation. [emphasis, links added]
The project, which consists of three reports, is aptly named “China Handcuffs” and explains:
As people try to escape, the symbolic “Chinese handcuffs” become tighter and tighter, representing the radical environmental agenda and its consequences. The closer the U.S. ties to China under the Biden administration, the greater the damage to U.S. energy independence and energy consumers, while China's interests greatly benefit.
Legacy nailed it, right?
Diana Furchtgott-Roth, director of the Center for Energy, Climate and the Environment at Heritage, discussed a chilling scenario while explaining the OnStar software feature on General Motors vehicles that can slow down or Stop the speed of stolen vehicles.
Imagine if the Chinese Communist Party decided to remotely block all electric vehicles in the United States because of our involvement in some China-Taiwan difficulties, or even worse, spoof their navigation systems, spoof their braking systems, and render them inoperable. This is a significant threat to our national security.
Meanwhile, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., warned in early September that while the Biden-Harris administration had tried to take a tough stance on China publicly, its track record was undermining its rhetoric.
Speaking specifically about computer chips and semiconductor technology, Rubio said in a press release:
I am writing this letter to express concern about significant weaknesses in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s export controls that allow companies with ties to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), to obtain cutting-edge semiconductor technology made in the United States.
Semiconductors remain the lifeblood of the technological revolution in the 21st century. The cutting-edge chip is one of the most advanced developments in American computer hardware. As you know, these semiconductors have a wide range of military applications, enhancing capabilities such as artificial intelligence and providing battlefield advantages to the military, and the Chinese Communist Party itself has written extensively about this.
Preventing America's adversaries from weaponizing these components for nefarious purposes is critical to our national security. The U.S. government cannot stand idly by while China steals sensitive technologies and advances the People’s Liberation Army through its military-civilian fusion strategy.
I read it twice, and every voter who cares about the security of this country should read it twice.
In introducing the project proposal, Fuchgott-Ross spoke of a reality she considers a “mystery.”
We should remove regulations that require us to use wind turbines, solar panels, electric vehicles, rely on batteries – because all of them are made in China. It rules the world in all these ways. It's a mystery to me why we have to mandate the use of these devices that are made in China.
Given the ominous possibilities, especially the growing threat from China to Taiwan and global dominance, It doesn’t take a proverbial rocket scientist to figure out the growing threats facing the United States.
However, as Rubio points out, The Biden-Harris administration has been full of rhetoric and weak action.
Fuchgot-Ross also said that one of the plan's report proposals is to ban Chinese-made electric vehicles, which is another matter of course.

The second report, “Don't Let the U.S. Military Be Addicted to China's Green Energy,” argued that the weakening of the U.S. energy system undermines our ability to deter China, a long-term war foe, which poses a serious threat to national security.
The third report, “How Forced Energy Transition and Dependence on China Will Hurt the United States,” details how China will dominate the global green energy supply chain and increase the United States' reliance on China as it pursues the energy transition.
As I write this, I am reminded of a famous, if not prophetic, quote from Abraham Lincoln, who was only 28 when he gave his historic speech (emphasis mine):
if it [danger] Once it reaches us, it must spring up among us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction is our destiny, we ourselves must be its creators and finishers. As a nation of free men we must experience all times or committed suicide.
We must not allow the radical left to be our “terminator.”
