Stonehaven polling has found that less than a third of those who left the party under Jeremy Corbyn have switched back over electoral support for a crackdown on domestic flights.

Only 26% support a ban on gas boilers in new homes by 2025.

The poll will provide a sobering reading for Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, the architect of Labour's green policies.

However, 59% of respondents expressed support for accelerating the development of new nuclear power.

Treasury was charged The decision to invest in Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk has been “delayed”.

Gary Smith, Secretary General of the GMB Alliance said:

“Nuclear power is vital if we are to reduce emissions and keep the electricity supply going – it is impossible to achieve net zero emissions without new nuclear power.

“Years of hesitation and delay have seen the UK slip from being a world leader in nuclear energy to a point where all but one of its nuclear reactors will be out of service in the coming years.”

Commenting on the research, Luke Betham, Head of Data Science at Stonehaven, said:

“These voters have sent a clear message to Keir Starmer.

“Bean talked about banning boilers and supporting new nuclear energy.”
