The cold temperatures have entered Maryland and there may be more snow on the way.

The highest point on Wednesday is expected to be only 29 degrees. There is a 20% chance of snowfall after 1pm and then it turns into clouds. It is predicted that there will be more snow before the first 10 points, while the lower is about 21.

The City of Baltimore has issued a blue extreme cold alarm that will last until Friday.

The Baltimore Health Department announces these alerts when temperatures are expected to drop to 13 degrees or less, including in wind chills, or when conditions are severe enough to represent dangers of people’s health.

The declaration activates a range of shelter and assistance services for cities and affiliates, including services for the homeless.

Adults, couples and families in need of emergency shelters are encouraged to contact the City of Baltimore Shelter Hotline at 443-984-9540, the department said.

Arctic air could be further south to the south of the United States and cause Appalachians when the storm slowly sails out, according to the NWS Weather Forecast Center at University Park.

It is expected to fall less than half an inch of snow on Thursday, mainly between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., close to the 29-year-old. Talbert and Caroline counties may see about an inch of precipitation. Wind energy up to 36 mph. The sky may remain cloudy Thursday night, below 22.

Friday should be sunny, warm conditions and a height of nearly 40 years old. It will be very clear at night, the lowest is about 24.

The weekends will also be warm and sunny, with temperatures reaching the mid-40s to the 40s on Saturday and Sunday.

Baltimore Sun journalists Matt Hubbard and Dan Belson contributed to this article. Are there any news tips? Please contact Todd Kapovich at tkarpovich@baltsun.com or x @toddkarpovich.
