PADUCAH — Today is a Weather Alert day and we are tracking potentially dangerous settings for severe weather this afternoon and evening.
Watching hours will be approximately 4pm to 11pm, with the main threat being damaging wind gusts and tornadoes, including severe tornadoes or long tornadoes. The threat of hail is also minimal.
A rare Category 4 moderate risk of severe weather is expected in the Booth Hill area of Missouri, northwest Tennessee and western Kentucky. The rest of the region is under enhanced risk level 3.
A risk boundary is a guideline. Regardless of the difference between risk levels 3 and 4, these are area-wide settings for severe weather.
It's a good idea to review your severe weather and tornado safety plans and make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather warnings.
