Pleasant weather ends the work week
Meteorologist Dalencia Jenkins makes the forecast. Well, as we move into the afternoon, the temperatures are still pretty nice. As you can see on satellite and radar, it's quiet. As we get through the afternoon and feel the temperatures again, we have plenty of sunshine to soak up and enjoy. They are very good. 82 is now at BWI Marshall. Yeah, we're going to be warming up at a couple of spots like Westminster and 79 Bellaire this time in '82. So, as we started the afternoon, it was a little cooler, and by the end of the afternoon, temperatures were back in the 80s and 70s on the East Coast, right where we should be at this time of year, maybe a few places, a few degrees. Tomorrow afternoon. But it was 70 degrees in Bowie, BWI, and then 69 degrees in our cooler neighborhoods. So people in the late 60s stay out of the city because we're going to be cooling off overnight. Now the beach is going to be a great place to be, especially today. Temperatures were in the mid-70s, a little cooler. There will be a moderate risk of rip currents through this afternoon. So if you are going out and want to take a dip in the ocean, be careful and maybe stay close to the lifeguards. Check out our future broadcast tomorrow afternoon and you will start to notice cloudy skies and also some light rain starting to move into western Maryland. We will start to see more persistent rain in the evening, with the amounts tapering off as we go overnight and into Sunday morning, but there will be showers throughout the next few days of the new work week. So make sure you enjoy the dry weather. Look at 70, 70, 87, I'm sorry, it's going to be dry today on Friday, with a chance of showers on Saturday. The weather will be warmer on Sunday but it will be mainly dry at 91 degrees and then drop into the 80s as we start the new work week with a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the work week. Thanks, Darencia. We may have just finished the All-Star break, but we're already looking ahead to next baseball season. The Orioles released their 2025 schedule Thursday. The Birds will start the new season on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays on March 27. The home opener will be March 31 against the Boston Red Sox. One big difference from this year is that the Orioles will have at least three days off each month, with the 2024 season resuming tonight. The second half begins with the Birds taking on the Rangers in Texas. You can listen to the game on WBAL RADIO 98 ROCK. The first introduction is scheduled for 805.
