RICHMOND, VA – Today the front lines to our south will push north into Virginia. An area of low pressure will move along it, increasing the chance of showers and storms, especially this afternoon.
Localized rainfall totals of more than an inch are possible. Some storms may produce stronger gusts, and there is a marginal risk (Category 1 of 5) of some severe storms from three cities and south.
It's muggy but cool today. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
The chance of rain will decrease on Sunday. We will have a mix of clouds and sunshine. Some scattered storms are possible, with the greatest potential over southern and western Virginia. Highs will be 85-90.
Another wave of showers and storms will move through the area on Monday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
The weather will continue to be muggy and unsettled from Tuesday to Thursday. Multiple showers and storms are possible each day. Highs will be 85-90.
Rain chances will decrease this weekend, and highs next weekend will be around 90 degrees.
