DENVER (KDVR) — It’s going to get colder in Denver over the weekend, with two days of below-average temperatures. There will also be showers and storms on Saturday and Sunday, with the area facing a marginal risk of severe weather, with the main threat being gusty storms after 3pm
Today's weather: Showers, below average temperatures
Denver kicked off the weekend with a mix of partly cloudy and dry air. Temperatures will be in the 50s and 60s in the morning, rising to the mid-80s in the afternoon.
There will also be scattered showers and thundershowers on Saturday afternoon, mainly after 3 p.m.
Tonight's weather: Showers, cool
There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight Saturday night, then we'll have a calm down early Sunday morning. Overnight temperatures will drop into the upper 50s to lower 60s, with mostly cloudy skies and wind gusts as high as 20 mph possible.
Ahead: More thunderstorms, cool start to week
Showers and storms are still expected in the area on Sunday, with highs expected to be around 70 degrees. That's about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than normal temperatures for this time of year.
Monday will be similar to Sunday, with highs near 80 degrees and scattered afternoon showers and storms possible.
The rest of the week will be dry and warm. High temperatures will be seasonal, with temperatures in the lower 90s on Wednesday and in the upper 90s on Thursday and Friday.
