A massive solar farm is being built at one of the largest coal mines in southern Appalachia. BrightNight, the developer of the decades-old Spark coal mine project farm near Hazzard, Ky., said the project could help revitalize a region that has lost thousands of mining jobs. Construction of the first phase could begin as soon as 2026. This past weekend was a nice change of pace compared to the extremely hot weekends we had previously experienced. Temperatures will reach the mid-70s on Saturday due to lots of clouds and rain. There will be more sunshine on Sunday and the temperature will rise slightly. We expect temperatures to be cooler than average for late July in another day or so.
