The following is the Friday evening weather forecast for July 26, 2024 from the Minnesota Weather Service and Meteorologist Matt Serwe.

Humidity is already present across much of Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin! In the Twin Cities you can feel an uncomfortable dew point around 70°. Temperatures are higher in western Minnesota today, and a heat advisory is in effect for central and western Minnesota, including Morris, Madison and Montevideo. By Friday night, temperatures in these cities could reach 100° to 105°. While the Twin Cities won't feel that hot, highs on Saturday and Sunday will be around 90 degrees with high humidity making it feel more like the mid to upper 90s. If you're going out this weekend, remember to bring plenty of water and know where the nearest shade or air conditioner is if you overheat.

Heat is the main focus of the forecast, as highs will stay above 80 degrees and lows around 90 degrees for most of next week. There may be some storms over the next few days which may keep things cooler in some places. A front is stalling in northwestern Minnesota Friday night. Scattered storms are possible near the front Friday night and Saturday night. Some of these storms may bring heavy rain, hail and strong winds. On Sunday, the front moves slightly eastward. Much of central and western Minnesota will see storms Sunday afternoon into the evening, with some areas likely to see severe heavy rains. As they get closer to the Twin Cities, they should weaken a bit but may bring some rain to the metro. There is also a chance for scattered storms on Wednesday and Thursday, which could bring more locally heavy rain.
