Tonight: Mostly sunny with a few storms, especially east of Highway 63.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny with lightening morning showers. It gets hot and humid, with highs around 90 degrees and a heat index around 105.
EXTENDED: High pressure will bring sweltering heat to central Missouri for much of the week, but there will be little measurable rain to relieve the pressure. A weather warning day is in effect Monday through Wednesday as the heat index will reach around 105-110 degrees each afternoon and dew points will rise into the 70s. Rain chances are limited to the ridge tops, just to our north. A parked car along the Iowa-Missouri border stayed on the front line until later in the week, when the pattern finally started to break, bringing a few storms and slightly cooler air to the area. Rainfall amounts will remain around 0.25 inches across much of our region, with heavier amounts in the Northeast along the Mississippi River.
