BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – There is still a 70% chance of storms today, mainly in the afternoon, with partly sunny skies and highs near 90 degrees. later today at 6pm.
In the tropics, we have an area with disturbed weather that has a 30% chance of developing into the tropics. It's early days, but computer models show this developing storm moving toward Florida and possibly into the Gulf of Mexico next week, so stay tuned. As for our local heat, temperatures should start to rise as the chance of rainfall decreases.
The WPC lowered our rainfall forecast to one inch or less. From where we look in the tropics, forecast highs are expected to be back in the mid-90s.
